Nov 30, 2006 · In August 2005 I purchased a 1999 Lexus AWD RX-300 with 60,000 miles from Northside Lexus in Houston. On 12/4/06 the transmission failed at 73,882 miles – the vehicle would not shift into any gear. Lexus dealers had replaced the transmission fluid at 31,385 miles and 59,134 miles.

Nov 29, 2004 · Measure the amount drained in the morning using a 99 cent orange juice pitcher or similar bottle with measurement markings. Pour the same amount of new fluid in the transmission. If your dipstick is marked "Type T-IV" then use Toyota Type T-IV or risk premature transmission failure.

Mar 2, 2006 · Lexus of Wilmington, DE is the worst dealership on the face of the earth. I have bought two new vehicles from them - 95 LS400 and 99 RX300. I won't bore you with the details, but both vehicles sucked and the dealership is pathetic. Ironically, I still believe deeply in Toyota as I now drive a 99 Avalon while my wife still drives the RX.

Dec 10, 2004 · I'm working on a 2001 RX, and the vacuum switch valve(?) is an entirely different animal vs. the info supplied in the '99 version of the manual. I found the switching valve under the hood, plugged into a revised air box lid.

Sep 30, 2007 · Lexus Model: Rx 330 & Es 300 Posted October 19, 2007 if it is the same as 1999 front door there is a screw under the window switches, one under the inside door open lever, another under the arm rest, and 2 under the very bottom of the door in plain site.
