Mar 21, 2012 · Powerplant-wise, there isn't much diff between 96-98 and 99/01 Cobras, and of course the 03/04 ones are supercharged which is awesome, but if you plan on doing road racing than an N/A Cobra might be a better choice for you.

Feb 19, 2008 · If you want a drag car you might want to stay away from the 99 Cobra. They had the IRS which is known for wheelhop at higher rpm launches. I love road racing so the IRS is ideal for me.

Jun 6, 2003 · Depends on the application. For drag racing, 4.1 or higher. For autox or road racing, 3.73. Also, if you get a blower you won't need as big a gear. The advantages of big ratios are obvious for drag racing but it's worth listing some of the reasons why 3.73 works well for autox and road racing.
