Feb 5, 2024 · I'm currently running a ASUS 310 1151 motherboard with an i3-9100f and a GTX 1650 card and 8GB DDR4 RAM. I don't really want to change out the motherboard due to not really being that technically involved, but I'm willing to take a shot at upgrading my CPU/GC. I've been looking at an i7-9700k as it is compatible with my board.
Will an i7-9700K bottleneck an RTX 4070 Ti? : r/buildapc - Reddit
Jan 10, 2023 · Just did this upgrade. First bought the 4070ti and got maybe 25% better fps. This puzzled me. Removed the 9700k with mobo, Went and got z790 with 13700kf. This tripled my fps in Warhammer 3 from 50 to almost 150. Cod went from a stuttery mess to 140-160fps. The 4070ti wasn't just bottlenecked, it was severely chocked.

Should I upgrade my 9700K to accommodate a 7800xt? : …
I would say the 9700k is more capable than most people realize. The single core performance is like 10% behind a Ryzen 5700x. So if you're playing lots of eSport games it's still fine. Only way it'll struggle is if you're playing games that need like 12 to 16 threads. 6 to 8 cores with hyperthreading/SMT.

Jan 9, 2022 · 9700k / 3080 here .... no need to upgrade unless you hit a game that's CPU intensive but honestly that's not going to happen at 1440p or 4k in the near future. 9700k OC'd to 4.9+ is as good as most modern chips.
Does a 4060 bottleneck a i7-9700K? : r/pcmasterrace - Reddit
Jan 8, 2024 · A 9700k has a gen3.0 slot and the 4060 has just 8x pciexpress lanes, but even with those limitations it would still be heaps faster. And it should be ok with that GPU and push proper frames.
