Jan 16, 2013 · The previous owner had painted the frame black and was not much on cleaning or maintenance. I've since had an auto body friend spray the frame. I was unable to get the exact YZ purple but went with something close and added a little flake to it. Hopefully I don't get blasted for not being factory! This is how she currently sits in the garage.

Aug 29, 2010 · The biggest diff between the 93 and the 94 was the all new engine in the 94. The 94 engine was and is the basis for YZ125 engines from then onwards. It had a guillotine power valve and finally retired the rotating drum design that you first saw on the 82.

Aug 22, 2018 · Took it to Pala one day to see how it was. Not great to be honest. The bar bend was horrible, with an insane amount of sweep. Grips were terrible (blue grips in previous pictures). Very slippery. The deep pocket in the seat. Even with earlier YZ's had a flatter seat profile. The 93-95 were very odd with the steep section going up to the tank.

Jan 13, 2013 · If all else fails, maybe find a 1994 yz 80/125/250 subframe off eBay for cheap and match that color. From what I understand, the 1994 frame was the Emig/Bradshaw inspired color from their '93 factory bikes. I have the '94 yz125 and the color is perfect.

Apr 3, 2020 · So im possibly going to pick up a basket case yz 250. Bikes semi together , but is missing the powervalve. I havent been able to locate one that isnt more than the bike. Partzilla says this only works on 92-93 yz &wr 250s.

Apr 1, 2008 · When we ran YZ85's, we ran the stock ones on 93 octane pump fuel, but we ran the modded ones and the superminis (which were higher compression) on C12 mixed 50-50 with the 93 octane unleaded. This was at the recommendation of the engine builders (Rick Peterson for the supermini, Pro Circuit for the modded 85).

Oct 15, 2011 · The motor is actually smoother than I thought. Running non ethanol 93 with amsoil dominator at 44/50:1 with stock jetting and the newer needle (N3ew) it was crisp but didn't have the mid range punch of the newer YZ's (06+), and no pinging. I'll put on a 9oz flywheel weight and most likely just leave it alone.
