Mar 4, 2017 · The 9' medium action Ugly Stick rated for 4-20 lb test is my favorite rod. Soft enough in the tip to act like a noodle rod but strong enough in the butt to stop fish. Just used mine today for 8 hours steelheading and it's not the lightest rod but it's not that heavy.
