Dec 26, 2016 · My ball python is 700g and I weighed the rat at 100. I calcuted 105g being exactly 15% of her body weight - however, when I look at the feeding charts, it says that the ideal size rat for her weight is around 44-84g.

On average, a healthy male adult rat weights between 0.88 and 1.5 pounds (400g to 700g), while an adult female rat weighs between 0.44 and 1.1 pounds (200g to 500g). This also depends on the body size and breed of the rat.

Sep 16, 2017 · I know 700g is still a lot for a rat, but he has been fat for a long time, and it seems normal for him. I already am giving him extra water--I put just a little fruit juice in it to make it tasty, and feed it with the syringe. He'll take at least two full syringes before he balks.

Jul 23, 2023 · My male rats, as adults, usually are at least 400g, usually around 450g at 1 year old. I've got one chonker at 730g, who has a bit of a paunch when dangled. We're working on his weight, but it's not too bad; he's mostly just big.

We've had 700g rats that were mostly muscle and bone, but have also had 600g rats that were pudgy. Our heaviest (by far, and nothing would help him lose it) was 950g - he looked fat, but lived over two years and was healthy until a zymbal gland tumor took him out.
