
What are the costs of filming in 70mm in comparison to 35mm?
Jan 28, 2001 · Nowadays Studios would rather pay astronomical salaries to stars (25 Million plus )than to spend a little extra to shoot the film in 65 MM. Any of you who saw either "Far And Away" or Hamlet in 70 MM must have noticed how breathtaking the picture looked on the big screen.

Nov 14, 2012 · As I am sure the prints were not recitified, they must have projected non-distorted images using a spherical lenses designed especially for that set-up. I loved that theater, and attended it every week almost without fail. In the 70's, both auditoriums were divided in half to make 4 theaters, all with small, flat screens.

Dec 22, 2008 · The movie is out on DVD-R through Warner Archive in a 1.33:1 aspect ratio. I read that the film had also been filmed using the Real LIfe 70mm process, but was never shown in that 2.13:1 format. Does anyone know if that version has survived?
