Capillary malformation-arteriovenous malformation (CM-AVM) syndrome is a disorder of the vascular system characterized by enlarged capillaries that appear as small, round dots on the skin.

CM-AVM is characterized by capillary malformations (CMs), which are composed of enlarged capillaries that increase blood flow near the surface of the skin. These malformations look like multiple small, round, pink or red spots on the skin.

The CMs are atypical: they are small, round-to-oval in shape and pink-red in colour. AVMs may be cutaneous, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intraosseous or cerebral. The association of CM with arteriovenous fistulas or Parkes-Weber syndrome (see this term) was reported in some cases.
