Easily made from Lapua 220 Russian brass, the 6mm PPC has a small primer and uniquely small flash hole that is credited for much of its inherent accuracy. The "short, fat" shape and nearly straight body contribute to efficient, consistent powder burning and stable chamber performance (it grips the chamber well during ignition).

The 6mm PPC is the standout among the short 6mm cartridges in terms of popularity and the only one regularly factory loaded. It is based on the .220 Russian case and factory ammunition is offered by A-Square in North America and Sako in Europe.
