Jul 7, 2014 · If you're using System 7 or higher you should use Ircle version 3.0.4. I used this version daily back in the day as I found it to be the most stable and was easier to use than the 2.x versions.

fixed a small bug in the notification when ircle is in the background (dcc requests/error msgs) increased stackspace for improved stability (especially with the 68k version)

Aug 28, 2008 · My favorite IRC client for the older Macintosh is MacIRC (68k) 0.9.6. It is very simple and lightweight... perfect for System 7. The official MacIRC page has been offline for years now, but you can still check out the documentation via archive.org.
