Sep 10, 2013 · Built by KAC, I think that's the extent of my knowledge. The uppers were made for the DEA's CLET (Chemical Lab Enforcement Team) due the the need to minimize hot muzzle gas in potentially flammable environments (i.e., drug labs).

Integrally suppressed 9mm sd, Colt mags, the production runs are made with Mayhem Machine Tool Uppers, my lower, and lots of other fun parts, the barrel is 5.25" long.

It was made somewhat famous back in the day by the "Knock Knock" art work showing the team armed with Colt SMGs w/these uppers about to do an entry.

The Colt 635-SD was a joint effort between @knightarmco and @coltfirearms to build a integrally suppressed 9mm sub machine gun based on the model 635 to arm the DEA’s Clandestine Lab Enforcement Teams (CLET) in the 1980s.
