Dec 17, 2004 · In retrospect, a 1967 GTO with the 4BBL 360HP motor, 4 Speed, 3:55's posi with actually have about the same performance as a 2003 ford F-350 crew cab diesel dually. Hard to believe, but true.... For those that have the 2003 GTO with the LS1 motor, that car is much faster than ANY GTO of the 60's by far, and drive 100 times better too.

May 29, 2014 · Just back from a 7,000+ mile trip (3+weeks) in our GTO (May 2014). Started in Florida, then to Kentucky with 9 other older cars for 6 days of touring there (Distilleries, museums (including the corvette museum with the smashed vettes), caves, train rides, lots of awsome roads in the back country).

Nov 2, 2024 · Another thing: about "My Mother's GTO." The book is more of an anthology about living in the 60s; when life was actually FUN; than it is about street racing - driving my moms freaky-fast 69 GTO. With fast cars, drag racing, cheeseburgers, and the iconic 60s music (which is timeless & eternal) it was a cornucopia of fun. Summers were incredible.

Mar 30, 2008 · You're right about the RPM's, Rukee. But a 421 rev's lower than a 389, and makes more power at lower RPM's. While a 3.55 is the standard gear for a 389 equipped stickshift 3400 pound GTO, the usual gearset for a big Pontiac with a 421 and stickshift seems to be 3.42 or 3.36. 3.55 was considered the best "all-around gear" in the GTO back then.....
