May 2, 2010 · Evidence suggests at 45,000 then every 30,000 for the 6-speed based on owner reports (there's no set interval since it's based on actual driving conditions). The 9-speed appears to be every 30,000 only for specific, severe conditions. The normal interval for the 9-speed appears to be somewhere between every 60,000 (based on severe intervals ...

May 26, 2016 · Consequently, the 12-16% improvement in fuel efficiency touted by ZF (when compared to ZF's 6-sp) evaporated into thin air. To me, that sure seems like a failure to meet a primary design objective: Honda's implementation of the ZF-9 in the Pilot, Passport and Ridgeline has resulted in no significant mpg gains over the Honda 6-speed.

Apr 5, 2020 · I have only 2,000 miles under my belt on the ZF 9 speed but did 70k with the 6 speed on my 2017. I like the 9 speed but I'm a ZF fanboy after owning 2 RAMs with the ZF 8. Day to day driveability feels remarkably similar as the ZF starts in 2nd gear in D, so really a 7 speed as 9th doesn't kick in until expressway speeds.

Jul 11, 2021 · It's early days for me, 2 to be precise, but I find the 9 speed slower. It's like the throttle mapping/response is very different than the 6. It's like the 9 is in eco or snow. My right foot has been tuned to the 6 for the last 4 years and the 9 …

Sep 6, 2023 · Hey guys, I bought a 2019 RL couple months ago and it has 86800 miles at the moment, love everything about this truck but the 6 speed transmission. Slammed into 3rd gear and went into limp mode - replaced 3rd gear switch and did 3x drain and fill. No luck Every time before it shifts into the...

Jan 19, 2020 · But now that I have some miles in the 2020 with the 9 speed even that is a pretty decent improvement over the G2 6 speed. The 9 speed is way quicker off the line with it's super short 1st gear. On the highway the older 6 speed has much more jarring RPM jumps when you need some acceleration where the 9 speed is much smoother and doesn't need ...

Apr 24, 2022 · If the 9-speed had the same reliability as the 6-speed, I wouldn't be driving a Honda. If the 6-speed had the same reliability as the 9-speed, I'd choose a 9-speed because: 1. Pushbutton shifter 2. "Lower" first gear 3. Paddle shifters 4. Longer maintenance intervals 5. Better fuel economy than my 6-speeds What I don't like about the 9-speed: 1.
Cost of transmission fluid change 2020 RTL-E 9 speed
Jan 13, 2021 · The ZF transmissions used in FWD Honda and Chrysler models are transverse 9-speeds with a combination of friction and dog clutches. ZF specifies two different fluids for these transmissions: ZF LifeGuard 8 fluid for the 8-speed and ZF LifeGuard 9 fluid for the 9-speed. ZF LifeGuard 9 fluid is supplied by ZF - it's less expensive than Honda ATF 3.1.
