Balun Choke 6m - VK6YSF
Dec 26, 2024 · BALUN 1:1 CHOKE & 1:4 BALUN HF ladder feed-line to coaxial cable combination choke and 1:4 balun. (0.1MHz - 30MHz). BALUN 1:1 CHOKING Choking balun for lower HF and MF bands.
Balun is an acronym for BALanced to UNbalanced, which describes certain circuit behavior in a transmission line, source or load. Most communications applications deal with two-terminal sources, transmission lines, and loads. This includes coaxial cables, open wire lines and systems working against earth or a ground plane as the "second conductor".
impedance matching - How do you construct a 6:1 balun
Feb 17, 2025 · With a 4:1 feedpoint transformer/balun system, you can use 75ohm coax perfectly. Most consumer-grade 75ohm coax can't be soldered, so you'll have to use an F-connector and a converter. Any residual mismatch is best dealt with an L-network (very low loss if well constructed) typically used in ATUs.
