I have 5950x and 4090 and was wondering if there'll be performance benefit for upgrading to either 7950x or 13900K. The conclusion from the referenced article seems to be a no for 4K gaming, since GPU will be the bottleneck here: it cannot render 4K frames fast enough so CPUs show no speed differences in producing them.

Got my 5950x a few days before Christmas, and have been tweaking it ever since. I thought I hit a wall a couple times with adjusting CO values, but I finally think I hit the PBO2 limits of my chip. My goal was to get as good of a balance between single core and all core performance, and I think I achieved it quite nicely here so I wanted to share my results and findings with the community.

Just curious, because I haven't been able to find any real answers for this, what are your 5950x idle temps at stock speeds? I'm using an h100i Platinum and i'm seeing this And I just don't know what's what specifically, and what the true cpu temp is and if i'm running hot or not, or im not providing enough cooling to the CPU with my little h100i.

Until games become really cpu heavy it will last for almost 8 years before it becomes a bottleneck. The bottleneck will be the tech it supports and the same with the motherboard.
