There are few titles that benefits from the 5800x3D cache by a lot, but on the other hand some games don't care at all. Also worth nothing is that 5900x benefits more from good RAM with high frequency&tight timings vs 5800x3D and the difference shrink with better DDR4 modules. For production it's quite clear than 5900x have the advantage.

By default the 5900x is limited in bios to 142w package power. GamersNexus got 193w after overclocking and running blender. They got 133w with stock settings. In my testing when fully maxed out doing video encoding it stays at 142w with stock settings.

Thankfully ebay gave me a refund on the 5900x and I gave up and bought a new 5900xt. Have had zero issues since. The only thing I could think of was:

So many factors come in to play (and opinions) showing gains and losses both depending on games, other hardware, settings, and on and on. In my own experience with PBO in gaming (5900X on X570S Master) the biggest benefits come from games that can utilize multiple cores.

New 5900X arrived, reset CMOS, load defaults, CPU boots normally. CCX0 easily boosts to 4.7 after just 5min of operation. I expect to see some boost higher.
