Aug 16, 2004 · I would concur that 576p and (upscaled)720p do not look considerably different on a 720p display. What I will say is that the de-interlacer built into the Screenplay 7210 is the top of the line Faroudja model and does take some beating even from an external Lumagen VP.

But the 576i/50 with 50 fps source, can also be used for doing either -> 1. 25 fps with a horid weive. 2. 50 fps with a horid Bob. The above 2, of course can be made to look better with some clever de-interlasing, but it will never be perfect due to missing information.

Apr 18, 2010 · All broadcast SD transmissions are in 576i not 576p. Your box is clearly capable of de-interlacing to 576p as is the Foxsat-hdr (it can output at 576i, 576p, 1080i). Jul 23, 2009 · 576p will be 1024x576 A 16:9 screen has a ratio of 1.78:1 1280/720=1.78 1024/576=1.78 Selecting 1280x720 or choosing a 720p option on your PC are both the same thing. I'd be inclined to run it at it's native res but its worth testing 720p as the projector may scale better than your graphics card.

Sep 18, 2006 · I've read that the Wii displays games using 480p but I thought this was an NTSC format. Will the Euro Wii's use the PAL standard of 576p? My concern is that pictures generated from my DVD player look much better in 576p than they do in 480p as it is closer to my TV's native res of 720p (1366x768).

Mar 28, 2008 · From what I have read if your TV does not support progressive scan, you can damage it via your player sending a progressive scan image (that is what the P means in 480p and 576p). If you want the PS3 to output 576i wouldn't you just use one of the SD connections, RGB scart would be the first choice. Or S-Video the second.
