B-52A, serial number 52-001, was used at Chanute AFB as a trainer for many years. As a teenager, my friends and I would climb inside the aircraft on Sunday afternoons - it was parked outside. A few years later, it was put under the torch and burned and used as a live fire exercise for Air Force students attending USAF fire school at Chanute.
