Jun 23, 2012 · Today, I put 50:1 oil in fuel tank like recommended here and disconnected the oil hose, first with nothing connected to the inlet, then with a vacuum cap. Both times ran engine about 2-3 minutes and no alarm went on. Clean the 4 wires and same results with no sound.

Apr 9, 2018 · If you're not going to use the VRO it makes sense to eliminate potential points of failure. You don't have to use OMC (BRP) fuel line. Any 5/16" ID USCG rated fuel line will work just fine. The key is to use marine grade fuel hose meeting SAE J1527 specs. Higher HP motors require 3/8" ID hose, but I think the 50HP motor uses 5/16".
