Mar 3, 2014 · The 48A means that it was equipped with powershift transmission from the factory. The equivalent of it in a military tractor is a 75E serial number. Your worry about an early and late powershift transmission was with the D7F, not the D7E.

What is a good brand of rebuild kit or are there any to avoid or is it best to stick with OEM parts that is if CAT still make them?

Jul 26, 2021 · Are you seeing bubbles/air at the radiator fill neck (signs of compression leakage). Sounds more like a clogged radiator. Get one of those cheap infra-red gun thermometers and report findings, particularly top and bottom radiator tank temperatures.

Jun 6, 2012 · I've attached the spec sheet data for the D7E-48A PS. Keep in mind for plowing, the Direct Drive version would be better suited than a power shift with a torque converter because the converter will get hot if you run it lugged back all the time.
