Mar 5, 2013 · Almost all of the GNR revolver cases are formed from 41 Rem Mag, 44 Rem Mag, or 454 Casull parents. Update: when I got home and consulted the GNR reloading manual I found there are GNR revolver cartridges formed from several other parent cases, including 357 Mag, Max, and 22 Hornet.

This cartridge is a necked down 41 magnum and gives the 357 bullet as much energy as a 44 magnum. Simple to load and no backing out in the cylinder makes the 356 GNR an excellent revolver cartridge for medium sized game.
