The weapon system is flexible enough to allow utilization of single-missile ramp launcher (9M317) or Vertical Launching Systems/VLS (9M317M) for maximum weapons availability. The Shtil-1 is capable of engaging from two to up to 12 targets simultaneously assigning one, two or three missiles per target automatically.
