Across many multi-threaded tasks, the 5600X and 3700X will trade blows, staying within 5-10% of each other. In games, the 5600X is faster, and always will be.

Dec 8, 2021 · To be fair the 5600x is the better option. In multi tasking it can keep up with the 3700x and for gaming it is the stronger cpu. It’s more powerful cores make up for having 2 less in mult tasking and those stronger cores provide better gaming ability as games don’t really need more than 12 threads.

Mar 15, 2021 · I don’t think there is a single answer. On the one hand a 3700X is good enough today and probably for some time. However a 5600x or 5800x with their 19% uplift in IPC should last a fair bit longer. Would you plan to upgrade cpu in 2-3 years or 4+ years. If 2-3 I’d take the 3700x, if 4+ I’d be very tempted by the 5800x.

I'm not entirely sure what benefit I get from having 8 cores and more threads rather than the 5600x when all I really do is gaming.

Jul 10, 2021 · 5600x In pure core workloads the 3700x does beat the 5600x. Like in cinebench r23 multicore. Obviously most games will always run faster on the 5600x. But as far as "more performance" the multicore score goes to the 3700x

Dec 27, 2020 · 5600X forsure, I went from 3700x to 5900x with a 3080 ftw3 ultra and my FPS jump was insane 120-160fps in warzone to 150-200, no change in game settings. my monitor is 1440p 165hz s2721dgf so it’s perfect FPS for the monitor. The 5600X and 5900x perform basically the exact same.
