Why not US 869 for 338 Lapua? | Sniper's Hide Forum
Jan 19, 2010 · Re: Why not US 869 for 338 Lapua? Rick at Alberta Tactical uses US869 alot w/300's. I've talked to him a fair amount about using US869 in our 338 Lapua improved and last I knew that was his #1 choice of powder. It is VERY slow so I doubt it would work very well with anything less than 250's and may not even work well with those.
338 Norma -vs- 338 Lapua (Savage 110BA) | Sniper's Hide Forum
Sep 26, 2023 · Re: 338 Norma -vs- 338 Lapua (Savage 110BA) I had read that one of the primary design goals of the 338 Norma was to accommodate the 300gr-class bullets in a 3.6" COAL. Unfortunately, I had the impression this limitation wasn't really an issue with 338 Lapua loaded out to ~3.7" to ~3.8".
Suppressors Hearing safe .338 Lapua suppressors? - Sniper's Hide
Oct 13, 2009 · Re: Hearing safe .338 Lapua suppressors? I don't have a .338 can yet, will be getting a thunderbeast when funds allow. As for the suppressor covers, I run the Tab Gear ones. They definitely keep the heat signature/mirage from the can effecting your view when shooting a longer string, at least in my experience with both 5.56 and .308 cans.

338 Lapua Retumbo loads | Sniper's Hide Forum
Jul 13, 2014 · Re: 338 Lapua Retumbo loads I used a bunch of Retumbo on my Rem 700 338LM with 250 and 300 Scenars. Regarding accuracy/precision, I don't think Retumbo is any better/worse than other options. I switched to N570 for my Steyr 338LM, and am getting two results: 1) lower recoil (maybe due to the slower burn, or a better muzzle brake on the Steyr)
