Jul 8, 2021 · it's a 4-5h job to swap engines, if you have a donor car with all of the anchillaries (MAF, airbox, flywheel) it's easy. Reprogram the DME afterwards.

May 9, 2016 · When I was doing this project I remember reading that a later 325e (e30) engine with the head swapped from the earlier 323 goes extremely fast. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the 6 cyl 320i has the same head as the 323i. If this is so, then source a 325e motor from an E30 and swap heads.

Oct 11, 2007 · I've decided to go with a M20B25 from a '87-'91 325i/ic/ix or '89-'91 525i. This 2.5L SOHC I6 engine makes 168hp and 164lbft of torque and uses a Bosch Motronic ECU. Ignition: 1 coil and a mechanical distributor, exact spark timing controlled by the ECU.
