Feb 17, 2021 · The PNY 3090 only works though, because the Revel version is smaller and has two 8-pin power connectors. SO you might want to look into an eGPU enclosure you like, then look at its power connectors and max card dimensions.. then find the card dimensions and power needs of the card you want.

Jul 28, 2022 · In the US, RTX 3090 and RTX 3090 Ti prices have fallen rapidly. Last week, I was able to find an ASUS STRIX RTX 3090 Ti LC at MicroCenter for $1,250. It works perfectly with the Mantiz Saturn Pro (without the outer shell). Blower coolers are not as effectively at temp and noise management in my experience.

Sep 16, 2023 · Very interesting solution. Llama 2 70b requires 40Gb of video memory for fine tuning. NVlinked 3090's in an egpu is a nice solution. Like you, all my current PCs with any jam are small form factor. I have a couple of old server boards but nothing to stuff 3090s into.

May 15, 2024 · Question 3: In my research I have seen certain laptops have more pcie lanes available for the egpu which will bring more performance and that I need a laptop that has thunderbolt 3/4 or usb4 to be compatible. 3a) which new laptop would you recommend to get the most out of the 3090 egpu? Which have enough pcie lanes and the correct port.

Oct 22, 2021 · Nice to see another NUC user here.. I have a few different eGPU boxes (Razer Core's, Sonnet Breakaway, etc), and even a 9th gen NUC (9i9VXQNX) in a Cooler Master NC100 case. Also a 9th gen i9, but haven't even opened the box yet. I just got three of the 11th gen NUC Extremes, and will still run a 3090 as an eGPU.
