Feb 15, 2020 · Re: Rank .308 Brass Brands For actual test results rather than someone going on their feelings and impression, look at the Handloader magazine article of 12/08. According to that article, the most accurate loads using virgin cases were in decending order of accuracy: 1. Nosler 2. Federal (not nickel plated) 3. Lapua 4. Remington (nickel plated) 5.
Which 308 brass is best | Sniper's Hide Forum
Jul 7, 2012 · Re: Which 308 brass is best My experience is that Lapua is the best with Norma a close second.LC Match has been very consistent, also.Winchester is affordable, and it cleans up well.I have had issues with Remington and Federal having a shorter than expected life.Usually primer pockets getting loose.I use Lapua or winchester in everything that I can,but would not pay the price for Lapua if I was ...
How often do you trim ,308 brass for a Bolt gun? - Sniper's Hide
Dec 29, 2009 · I trim my 308 back to 2.005" and when they won't pass through calipers locked at 2.015" they get trimmed. My 7-08 is even easier, when I neck down 308 brass the cases are a lot shorter than 7-08 max, so much so that the primer pockets go prior to trimming. The last "uneven" 7-08's I chrono'd had an SD of 7.....
7mm-08 from 308 brass - Long Range Hunting Forum
Feb 4, 2021 · I've done a bunch of 308 Lapua brass down to 7-08. Single-pass through a Redding FL sizing die. The brass works for me in factory bbls from Kimber, Remington x4, Winchester, and Weatherby. I don't size the whole neck, just enough to set a false-shoulder and chamber into the intended bbl. This sets the case-head firmly upon the bolt-face.
308 Win Brass (GGG) & (CBC) | Sniper's Hide Forum
Mar 23, 2010 · Re: 308 Win Brass (GGG) & (CBC) I have several hundred CBC cases for 44 mag and they run through my revolver just like everything else. They reload just fine. I have a handful of pieces for 308 that are earmarked to go to a buddy of mine. I prepped them and sized them.
Lake City 308 vs LR brass differences? | Sniper's Hide Forum
Jan 25, 2009 · Re: Lake City 308 vs LR differences? In terms of the brass itself, not much difference at all. The two biggest advantages you've got with LR brass is the lack of a primer crimp, and the improved chance that it wasn't cycled through an MG of some type. Fired in a bolt gun, you're good to go with a normal reloading routine from there on out.
308 brass volume question | Sniper's Hide Forum
May 18, 2009 · I don't have data currently, but I recently started running Starline brass (large rifle primer) in my .308 Win bolt gun. The accuracy and ES spread on virgin brass has been excellent. All I've done is prime and run an expander mandrel through them. I can get a series of case weights later this week for you.
.308 brass, large or small primers??? - Sniper's Hide
Aug 18, 2008 · So, in your humble opinions, should I buy brass with the standard large primer pockets or the "Palma" brass (Lapua) with the small pockets? Rifle - Kimber 84M LPT in .308 Purpose - local 100yd benchrest (factory class), medium range precision (300 - 500 yards) and possibly some F-Class...
Lake City .308 LR Pulled Brass | Sniper's Hide Forum
Feb 10, 2013 · Edit: Just as a side note: After full length sizing/uniforming primer pockets/deburring flash hole/chamfering, I wanted to get a quick weight check on once-fired LC NATO, LC LR, & virgin LAPUA 308 brass (below). Admittedly, (5) casings is a very small sampling. Then again, most of the groups fired consist of (5) shots.

Mar 6, 2012 · Re: Question for people who reload Federal .308 brass the LC brass i use for 308 and FGMM brass is almost identical in case capacity and i see almost identical results on the chrono. But yes the primer pockets loosen a bit after a few firings. I also anneal everything. Its good brass if you get it without much cost, but i wouldnt go out looking ...
