A Canadian by the name of Ellwood Epps designed a chambering called the 303 Epps Improved, which did away with the extreme body taper and gentle shoulder angle. By reducing bolt thrust, this cartridge could be loaded to 30/06 levels in the SMLE.

Soft points generally used on first shot backed by solids. It is also my understanding that more buffs, elephant, and all dangerous game have been felled by the .303 British round than all others combined.

Mar 21, 2021 · Beretta 303 Stock drop washers don't leave a lot of room for moving the recoil spring tube over to provide more cast, and 303 stocks are pretty thin on that side also. I don't think you have a lot of options. Adjustable comb may be the way to go.
