May 4, 2016 · Many decades ago, my father went on a 30+ km trail run in rural Mexico. Bottled water and Gatorade were pretty much non-existent back then (at least in that area). Whenever he came to a town or village, he'd buy a soda (he'd shake it to remove the gas). Not a thing he remembers fondly, but it was useful and he didn't have to carry a lot of water.
