Jan 20, 2018 · What the Hornady manual should say is "A very, very, very, small percentage of Ruger Mini-30's made in the last 30 years will have a .308" bore. All the rest will have one that is .310" bore" . I saw that statement in the Hornady manual and just ignored it.

At the time the Mini-30 was introduced very few bullet makers where producing .311/.312 inch bullets for reloading in the light 125-130 grain weight required.

Feb 14, 2019 · Broken Bear, in your original post, I believe you have the bore diameter switched. It is my understanding that the first couple years that the Mini 30 came out, it was using the .308 bore diameter, but then it was switched to .310-.311.

May 4, 2011 · IF--the groove diameter of the Mini 30's barrel is .308, then I would guesstimate that chamber pressure would be up somewhat due to the 7.62x39mm cartridge's .310 diameter gilding metal jacketed bullet being squeezed through it. Most imported ammo seems to have copper coated steel jacketed bullets of .310 dia.

Oct 13, 2023 · 1) .30 is a pretty general number when referring to .308 bores. There are also .311 bores, such as with the Combloc calibers, but .30 is also generically applicable to them as well. A .30 bore snake will work just fine for you rifle. 2) You don't need to remove your muzzle brake to use your bore snake.
