Dec 28, 2014 · PSA: 2x4s on their side are fine. If you have a 4x4 or 5x5, then you need to be sure you orient properly with the long beams running horizontally. What you're suggesting is definitely not wrong, but allow me to add that this mainly applies to the 4x4 or 5x5 shelves.
