The Citroën Pony (or Namco Pony) is a vehicle that was manufactured based on the Citroën 2CV at Namco Motors in the Greek Thessaloniki from 1975 to 1982. In the 1960s, Namco was looking for a parts supplier to manufacture a small car .

PONY made its appearance in the global automotive industry in 1973, using the platform of the legendary 2CV of Citroën. Then, in 1982, and after the 2CV production was halted, the PONY was supplied with Ford engines, frog-leaping to the third and fourth generation of PONY, with large orders and exports even to the USA.

This 1983 NAMCO Pony-Citroën was built by the National Motor Company of Greece and utilizes the frame, 602cc flat-twin, and four-speed manual transaxle of Citroën’s 2CV. It features white-finished metal body panels, black vinyl-upholstered seating, and removable doors.

In 1972, the Pony was introduced at the Thessalonika Trade Fair, after an agreement was signed with Citroën. The car had been designed by Citroën on a 2CV platform as part of a 'basic world car' project that would eventually lead to the Citroën FAF.

The Namco Pony. The Pony was another vehicle with a very strong resemblance to the Baby-Brousse. Greek company Namco started building it in 1972 and continued doing so until 1983. Its production life therefore began six years before Citroën introduced the FAF, and ended two years after the FAF was discontinued.

This Namco Pony is a pickup version with a bench for 3 persons, they were also available with a metal top and sides. They were built in the NAMCO factory in Thessaloniki and were a Greek icon during the seventies and eighties.
