Oct 19, 2003 · Last weekend I adjusted the valves (hot) in my 1976 280Z (for the first time since I got it a few months ago) using the following procedure from a Chilton's repair manual: Place a wrench on the crankshaft pulley bolt and rotate the engine until the valves for the No. 1 cylinder are closed. When both cam lobes are pointed up, the valves are closed.

Feb 11, 2009 · The consequences would be that you successfully deleted the EGR emmission equipment. I did the same thing to my 1978 280z. Only I used a sawzall and then an aluminum scrap plate cut to fit and used a little JB-Weld to git-er-dun.

Aug 12, 2011 · I searched around and it seems the opinion is that the NGK BPR6ES-11 is the reccomended plug for an early z. Unfortunately that plug seems to be discontinued. I did manage to find the BPR6ES at my local parts store, but wasn't sure if it would work for my car. I have a 76 280z, bought recently (getting back into them after 10 years).
