Our office provides a central information area in the civil department to assist the bar and the general public in finding case numbers and in identifying parties. The department provides computer access to case information, as well. All records are maintained electronically.

Some of the civil cases heard by the Court involve property, money, personal injury and domestic issues. There are 16 judges on the 24th Judicial District Court. The 24th JDC judges are. elected by voters of Jefferson Parish. The term of office for a district judge is six. years. The judges elect one of the sixteen to act as the chief judge.

During the week of July 31 – August 4, the 24th JDC civil-filing department filed and processed 17,476 filings (many of those Ida related) and imaged 7,837 documents – all in addition to its other filings.
