A 24 fps movie has constant 42 ms frame times. Every frame is shown for about 42 ms, then the next is shown. A video game has frame times that vary, often significantly. It's possible to have an average fps of, say, 30 fps, in a given one second (1000 ms) interval and still have one really long 100 ms frame next to a couple short 15ms frames.

Dec 31, 2013 · Drop the footage into the project, then interpret the 60 fps to 24 fps. Drag footage into timeline. Then right click clip in timeline and select replace with after effects composition. Then use timewarp effect to speed the footage back up to normal speed, I believe 225% should do the trick. Most Importantly make sure to select enable motion blur.

Finally, 24 FPS is also sounds like a severe limitation. The following is my interpretation of a weakness of the technique: While you move incredibly fast BETWEEN frames, the user is technically frozen DURING each frame for 1/24 of a second at a time. Someone could theoretically strike within 1/24th of a second and disrupt the technique.

When a movie is shot at 24.000 fps (and presumably edited at 24.000 too) and then broadcasted at 23.976 fps, does the TV station go through the trouble of re-encoding the video to 23.976 (like they definitely would do with 30 to 24, for example), or do they simply slow it down 1.001 times to avoid frame interpolation issues?

The examples go on and on. If you want to shoot 48 or 60fps just in case you want to slow-mo a shot in post, use the 360º shutter and the footage will look almost exactly like your 24@180 when you drop it on a 24fps time line, because the actual exposure time of each frame is close to the 1/48sec of 24@180.
