Oct 12, 2014 · I have a older Kimber Mdl 82 22 Hornet. I never became fond of the long tapered thin walled 22 Hornet case or the case head spacing on the rim. After getting a Rem 221 Fireball rifle I stopped using the Hornet. This year I got a 17 Hornet CZ 527 Varmint rifle which shoots 1/2 inch 100 yard groups using Hornady 20 grain bullet ammo.

Dec 21, 2024 · The stories about 22 hornet from S&B being a brittle alloy are confirmed. Sad to say. I fireformed 22 hornet brass, first annealed it and started my powder charge at the bottom of h110. I also fired 5 rounds of the 22 k hornet brass that I was given with the starting load of 1680. Also to say I had zero malfunctions using the factory hornet mag.

Loading "reduced" Trailboss loads or similar methods, If I can get a 50 yard zero with 6 to 8" delta to 100 yards, perfect. Of course to stretch it out farther standard loads.

Feb 13, 2016 · I use H110 but lil' gun is a fuzz faster. Sad the 22 hornet is so overlooked. I tried some 50-60 grainers without much success as far as tight groups go. I'm good with 35-45 grains since I have other varmint rifles in more powerful chamberings. Ruger was making the M77/22 in 22 Hornet but not sure if they still do.

Nov 3, 2013 · 1-14 in the .22 Hornet is generally good for longer 40 gr and 45 gr bullets like the V-max as well as flat based bullets in the 55 grain range - provided you keep the velocity up and are not shooting in cold weather. Stay away from the longest boat tailed, polymer pointed 55 gr bullets and you should be ok.

Mar 25, 2013 · The 22 Hornet is very easy to reload for and case life is very good also. Both of our rifles shoot 1/2 inch groups at a 100 yds. These are two of our favorite rifles to Varmint & Small Game Hunt with. We shoot them a lot and like them more everytime we use them.
