I use to take a 25 foot parker and a 22 foot jones brother center console offshore in N.C.40 to 50 miles all the time.They both had 2 stroke 225 on them.One was yamaha and the other was suzuki.This was 15 years ago.They both would burn around 70 gallons everytime turning 3800 to 4000.U have a 4 stroke so u will probably burn 50 gallons at most.That 22 mako will handle 50 miles no problem.QUOTE ...

Mar 9, 2012 · Stepping "down" to Mako's 22 and 23' boats, you find the shorter LOA with an 8' beam and a 19 degree deadrise, so running in a chop won't be as easy as it is with the Mako 254 family. With ANY older boat (not just Mako's), you'll likely have problems with wiring, a place to flush mount modern electronics, and potentially wood rot in the transom ...

Jul 24, 2019 · We purchased a 231 Coastal in 2017 (this model is now called 231 Hybred). It replaced a. 22 ft Mako. The Nauticstar has far more creature comforts than the Mako, but is a bay boat and not really comparable to the offshore capabilites of the Mako. We have it rigged with a 200hp Yamaha although it now is rated for 250 hp. Trim tabs are a must.

Jul 30, 2009 · Model year 2000 Mako 253, Roballo 22 ft Walkaround and Grady White Gulfstream I am considering moving to a newer boat . Presently own Wellcraft 248 Sportsman I/O and hate that dam engine box in floor I like the Mako 253 for the stern seat that folds into transom. Have heard quality for this year has somewhat dropped?

Jan 25, 2017 · I started this build about a year ago, putz'd around with it a bit in the spring of last year, pretty much took the florida summer off, and just kind of picked things back up after thanksgiving through xmas. The hull is a Mako 22. I picked up the hull from a buddy that bought the boat for the honda that was hung on the back.

BUT the option to go to a 20/22 ft walk around and in the summer-nah- we kept the tent idea and went CC-see below. The CC you use every weekend and the need for the cabin is very seldom, even for us its usually from 11 AM to maybe 11 or 12 PM and the CC is much more user friendly.

Re: 21 ft Mako & 4 Stroke Engine ? i run a 1982 21 and have never had a problem with the transom style and anyone with half a brain wouldn't either. i'd love to put a 250 etec/opti on mine.

Been looking at Pathfinder 2200, Shearwater 23 LTZ, and 22' Mako. All are very nice but I'm confused about which one is better. Boat will be used mostly for fishing in saltwater inshore with maybe short trips offshore when the weather allows, also for familly outings tubing etc. Looking for suggestions, opinions, thoughts, etc about these boats ...

I know they used to have a ton of offshore models ranging from 21 all the way to 45 feet. Now it seems as though there entire offshore line up has been cut except for one model.
