Dec 17, 1999 · If it was a Toyota drivetrain (not saying 2JZ/V160, just something Toyota developed), and assembled in Japan with BMW Z4 badges on it, I don’t think the Supra crowd would give it as much flak. It maybe would still get a bad rep if it didn’t live up to expectation (extremely high), but it wouldn’t have been blamed as a BMW problem.
