Took my 16 year old cat to the emergency room because he was breathing heavily and having trouble walking, Vet said he had fluid in his lungs. He was going to get a sample of the fluid to determine what is was. When they started to sedate him, his heart stopped and they did CPR but could not resuscitate him. I am devastated.

But I would recommend getting some labs on the cat and possibly having the abdomen palpated. Its important to ensure that they eating and also litter box changes.
