My 100 series has the 1hz with turbo and was great until the turbo let go and caused some engine damage, im going down the turbo kit rebuilt as i can afford a transplant. Good luck with it all. Apr 30, 2013 · I recently bought a 75 series troopy with the 1HZ and DTS turbo kit fitted. It has 330K, past 100K with the DTS fitted. I have noticed some oil leaking from the back of the head. It looks like it has been doing this for some time. Nothing too major more like seeping or weeping.

Jul 28, 2020 · It had around 700k on the clock was an auto and to the best of my knowledge had never had the bottom end rebuilt. I would jump into my turbo 1HZ in the carpark at work after having just got out of the 1HD-T and think I had left the handbrake on. So, in other words, a 1HZ with a turbo performs better than a standard, but it's not a 1HD-T. Good luck.

Apr 9, 2013 · Yeah 550 post turbo is the norm, with the known 1HZ weaknesses I want to stay well below the max allowable temps to hopefully get a longer life. At the moment the engine feels really strong and healthy, it doesn't drop off dramatically after 3100rpm but taper off from there all the way past 3800rpm.

Feb 29, 2016 · Save the pennies and do the conversion i reckon mate. Did the ol turbo spec the 1hz business but the head is still the weak link and cant handle the heat the turbo makes. I was in nearly 15k with my hz before i bit the bullet and pissed it off. There are many success stories of turboed hz's but there are more horror stories of failures than good.
