Gaming at 1440p on a 4k TV? How bad is not running native res?
Nov 7, 2014 · I use a 40" 4K TV as a monitor. I usually game at 1440p, or 2560x1080, only 4K on old games (my 1060 can't push that much). 4K looks great. 1440p looks very good. Only 1080p looks visibly fuzzier, but then again my face is a mere 2/3 feet from the screen. Bottom line - it's fine, depending on distance, for 1080p, but 1440p looks perfectly OK at ...
Does anyone know of any 4k tv that can support 1440p - Tom's …
Apr 16, 2013 · I was unable to get the tv in the link provided, but it should work with any 4k tv, as I tried it with a Samsung at TigerDirect before it shut down in canada. I was able to get it in 1440p but sadly could only run in 60hz the reason being is the the tv is just designed that way. Could also be the limitations of HDMI 2.0 (and Displayport 1.2)

Any 1440p tv's? - Tom's Guide Forum
Mar 11, 2017 · There are 720p tv's 1080p tv's and 4K tv's... I have a 1080p tv, and want to upgrade. 4K tv's are let's say "out of reach." So I was wondering if there are any tv's that are 1440p and if so can you provide a link and if not why wouldn't they have 1440p's as a buffer from 1080 to 4K? Thanks!
So why did they skip 1440p and 2K to go right to 4K - [H]ard|Forum
Aug 13, 2014 · Is it because if you watch a 1080p video on a 1440p tv/monitor it has to stretch the image and make it slightly blury. On a 4k (3840 × 2160) monitor since it's double the pixels a 1080p video would not have to use a bluring filter to increase the resolution of the video to match the monitor's native resolution, instead you can just double the ...
Active signal resolution stays at 4k, need 1080/1440p - [H]ard|Forum
Oct 2, 2016 · Second reason is the upscaler in my TV is better than the one in my video card, so things aren't as sharp as they should be. The reason I get 4:2:2 is because HDMI 2.0 only has the bandwidth for up to 4:2:2 at 3840x2160 10/12 bit colour at 60hz. Since 4k is the forced signal resolution for my 1080p/1440p HDR settings, I get 4:2:2 1080p/1440p HDR.
Are 4k 60Hz panels that can do 1440p @ 120/144Hz a thing?
May 27, 2007 · It's a TV so is nice for the living room but I'd never use a huge 50" + tv at a desk/desk distances personally. My gaming monitor wishlist is a dp 1.3 , 21:9 3440x1440 144hz+ hopefully by end of the year, and 1080ti's early 2017 if out.
4K monitor seems blurry when lowered to 1440p. Replace?
Feb 9, 2002 · Some 4K TV's and monitors can do a 4:1 mapping of pixels to produce a reasonably clear 1080P display. 4K is 8,294,400 pixels. If you divide this number by four you get 2,073,600 which is 1080P. 2560x1440 is 3,686,400 pixels. Multiplied by four you get 14,745,600 which is well in excess of 4K. Thus, trying to run a 4K display at 1440P makes no ...
Using Samsung 4k TV as Gaming Monitor @60hz... - [H]ard|Forum
Jun 30, 2003 · My PC is at the opposite end to where my TV is so using a shorter cable isn't possible, although I may pull things closer and use a shorter cable just to try it one day. I am not trying to 4k@60hz, I am trying to 1440p@60hz but it only lets me do 30hz, no higher rate is available, yet with 4k resolutions, i can select 60hz.

Jan 24, 2019 · Either that, or the TV will only handle 1080p and derivatives. 1440p is a derivative of HD, 720p not Full HD, 1080p. It's a TV, not a monitor, there is a difference in pixel association. Upvote 0 Downvote
