Mar 1, 2017 · This portolan map was drawn by me for my PhD in the history of cartography. It was drawn using techniques and materials that would have been used to make manuscript maps between 1200 and 1700 AD. This particular one was based on the 1403 portolan map by Franciscus Becharius of Genoa.
