Oct 26, 2019 · FWIW - I contacted Underwood about grizzly defense ammo choice for the 10mm. They recommend the 140 Xtreme Penetrators over hard cast bullets due to greater tissue damage. Caviat - Not looking for a debate over hypothetical ammo choice.

Mar 8, 2025 · I took 2 deer last year with a 10mm 1911. Both with 200gr WFN Hardcast. This year I will be using 200gr Hornady XTP. I don't know much about the Glock setup but I can say 10mm does just fine out to 50-60 yards. I've since sold the 1911 and have now built out a single shot TC Contender with 7.5" barrel. Barrel is due to be here in 4 weeks.

Oct 26, 2019 · Use the Buffalo Bore or Underwood heavy hard cast ammo . Keep the barrel clean and you'll be fine. If you're concerned, slap a KKM barrel in it and rock on . Unless you're going to be shooting a ton it doesn't make sense to hand load considering the quality 10mm ammo available today. A G20 is a great choice, it's also my EDC and nightstand pistol .

Dec 22, 2022 · I bought a 200gr mold and 1000 pieces of starline brass when I bought my 10mm back in 2006. It's a Kimber Stainless Target model with the 5" barrel. The only factory ammo I found worthwhile back then was Double Tap. 200gr cast at 1300fps. My handloads are around 1250fps with Blue Dot and 1300fps out of my Glock model 40 with it's 6" barrel.

For performance, reliability, just plain rock and roll the glocks to me r supreme. the 10mm round is for hunting. the round is a stone cold killer.
