Mar 23, 2011 · iso viscosity classification system Many petroleum products are graded according to the ISO Viscosity Classification System, approved by the international standards organization (ISO). Each ISO viscosity grade number corresponds to the mid-point of a viscosity range expressed in centistokes(cSt) at 40°C. For example, a lubricant with an ISO grade of 32 has a …
10W40 vs 0W40 | BobIsTheOilGuy
Dec 15, 2020 · If you want to protect your engine, you need a thick base oil, therefore 10w-40. As a side note, allways remember, cold start wear dont exist. All you need is a thick base oil, thats the most important thing. I wonder when all the manufacturers that recomemnds 0w-40 for their high end sports cars wake up and see that they do it wrong...
good 10w40 options? | BobIsTheOilGuy
Nov 29, 2009 · I just bought a zero turn with a Kawasaki engine. Looks like the best recommendation according to the manual is 10w40. All the dealer had was 10w30 and it was a CJ-4/SL oil. That was the Kawasaki oil It rarely gets below 40 here and routinely hits 100 degrees outside. Will something like rotella...

Mar 10, 2015 · I don't think u really need a 5w-40 oil in Florida. I would go with the M1 HM 10w-40. That is an AWSOME oil, and u are following your manufacture's recommendation, which is always a plus. Not that T6 is bad, because I use and love it, but just don't think u …

Can I use 10w40 in my vehicle? | BobIsTheOilGuy
Aug 13, 2011 · here's a thought -- your vehicle calls for 5w-30, so buy 5w-30 and use it. i don't understand why there are so many threads devoted to this topic -- can i use a (thicker/much thicker)oil in my car that calls for a 5w-30, or a 20w oil? 10w-40 won't hurt anything, but using that logic, go with a 20w-50, or mabye a 10w-60.not being sarcastic -- just go with the spec'd grade.
pump oil for pressure washer - Bob is the Oil Guy
Jun 28, 2009 · I have a Honda 5.5 HP with Annovi pump that is 15 years old. I use Amsoil 10w-40 engine oil in the pump. Seems to work well. It says to use a 10w-40 non Detergent oil, but it seems to work well. I have never seen any metal particles in the oil I drain out. Some pump MFGrs say to use their special pump oil.
Oil for my classic Cadillac? | BobIsTheOilGuy
Nov 2, 2011 · I think a 10W-30 dino would be okay in this engine, although a modern 10W-40 or 15W-40 might be better. Any oil you'll put in it now is far better than the best oil that could have been found in 1970, though. Having said all of the above, if it were mine, I'd give it either M1 HM 10W-40 or M1 15W-50, or at least Maxlife SB 10W-40.

Jul 31, 2005 · If you want the higher saps stuff go with a 10w-40 in your favorite brand. Or the 10w-30 HDEO. With small engines it's more about having sufficient viscosity for operating conditions than any particular additive package. Air cooled engines actually need to be filled based. South FL? 15w-40 or 15w-50. N wisconsin? I'd go with a 5w-30
