Sep 30, 2021 · The 1911 grip presents no issues for me when firing even +P 45 acp, but the same configuration in a smaller frame 10mm just seemed too thin side to side to give me enough control. I have no such complaint when firing my g29.

Nov 25, 2007 · Thinking of getting a 10mm 1911 to carry when walking and working at the farm. I really like les Baers (have 9 of them). Have looked both 5”&6” .I haven’t shot with a 10mm ever. Is the 6” barrel they way to go? If so why? How different is the recoil compared to 45acp.

Feb 21, 2018 · Definitely a strong package, though a little unrefined. The Sig P220 is probably their equal in terms of strength. I still don't shoot them as well as a nice 1911 though. Wish Sig would make a 10mm x-series. The newer Tanfoglios/EAAs (e.g., hunter, elite series, stock series) are also very robust and able to handle steady full power 10mm ammo.

I really like mine, but it only shoots 100% with American Eagle 10mm, and I'm wondering if dropping the recoil spring a pound or two will make a difference. I'm not that familiar with 1911's, having only the RIA and a 20-year old Para Ordnance.
