Missouri's Source Water Protection Program is designed to ensure Missouri's drinking water is safe, not just at the tap, but at its source. The department is initiating the program as part of the federal Safe Drinking Water Act.

Through this grant program, the department provides financial assistance to community public water systems to develop and implement voluntary, local source water protection plans to protect the community’s raw water source (s) from contamination. The department anticipates accepting applications starting in February.

It describes Missouri’s plan for satisfying requirements of the 1996 amendments to the federal Safe Drinking Water Act to develop and implement a statewide source water assessment and protection program (§1453 and §1428(b)).

What is the Missouri Shared Work Program? The Missouri Shared Work Program (SWP) is an alternative to a layoff for employers faced with a reduction in available work. It allows the employer to divide available work among coworkers instead of a layoff. These coworkers receive a portion of their unemployment benefits while working reduced hours.

MoRAP is working with the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) to facilitate the development of a Comprehensive Conservation Strategy for Missouri. The Strategy will be a combination of opportunities from the State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP), the Forest Action Plan, Fisheries priorities and Private Land Division priorities.
