Sep 29, 2023 · You don’t even have to fly the J7W to figure out that the slower rounds are absolutely a downgrade. I was a fan of the J2M5 (prem) which only gets 2 x 30mm with 42 rpg. I refuse to fly it anymore. Even after the real shatter fix, the 30mm’s weren’t one-shotting as reliably as they used to. Now they made aiming them harder with slower rounds. Dec 29, 2024 · It is pretty weird that J2M5 only has 84 rounds 30mm ammo, I noticed that someone has reported it should have 20mm gun as well, but I still can’t understand if it has more 30 mm ammo? like 120 or 200? which is the same as KI84 or J6N1? Looks like it should have enough room in the wings to carry more ammo.

Apr 12, 2024 · Yes I am aware, but the data seems outdated (to what extent, I don’t know), and from what I understand he guess and checked every plane (something I will never have the patience to do) and it appears the data he gathered is slightly different than mine.

Feb 10, 2025 · J2M5 doesn’t have a turbocharger, just a single stage 2 speed supercharger. J2M4 is the experimental model with a turbocharger, although it doesn’t improve performance over the J2M5 at all. I suspect this is a mistake since the Ki-100-II also doesn’t do any better up high than the regular Ki-100 but other aircraft with that same engine do.
