Mar 11, 2020 · Probably an unpopular opinion...but i owned both an ES-333 (satin), and ES-335 (flamey, gloss). I personally love the look and feel of satin, and to be perfectly honest the ES-333 killed the 335 in both playability and sound after i got rid of the 490 series pickups.

Jul 13, 2019 · What myke232 said - the Casino is fully hollow and 2XP90 single coils - the ES335 is semi-holow with a block of chromyte (balsa) running down the middle inside to reduce/defeat feedback with 2XHumbuckers. Dec 12, 2014 · That's pretty low action. I normally like mine a little higher than that. But I do minimize the break angle on a 335 by either top-wrapping or raising the tail-piece. Less break angle makes a 335 play much slinkier. Are you using 10s or 11s? I used to use 11s, but found that 10s sound the same and play much easier.

Sep 8, 2019 · I find the whole ES-335 naming thing a convoluted mess. You have the same basic 335 Dot that was formerly made in Nashville but built in Memphis and referred to as a Memphis 335 and even worse, most times referred to as a Memphis Custom 335 even though it is not a true custom shop guitar.
