A Delta Airlines flight made an emergency landing at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Sunday.

Data from FlightAware shows the plane was in the air for an hour after takeoff before diverting back to MSP and landing.

A Delta flight bound for Amsterdam returned to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport shortly after takeoff on Sunday. DL160, which was scheduled to take off at 3:37 p.m., experienced a mechanical issue with its flaps that required an emergency landing.

Minneapolis, MN — No one is hurt after a Delta Air Lines flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport. The incident happened yesterday afternoon. Airline officials say pilots reported a mechanical failure of the plane’s flaps shortly after takeoff.

Shortly after takeoff on Sunday afternoon, the flight deck radioed the tower to say that the aircraft had experienced an issue with flaps shortly after takeoff. The flaps are movable surfaces on the back of an airplane wing, and depending on the aircraft, they help the plane make more lift. They’re also used to help a plane slow down for landing.

The aircraft had 272 passengers on board and the airline said it would swap out the aircraft and recrew if deemed necessary.

All 272 passengers onboard have been booked on other flights to Amsterdam as of Monday, according to the airline.
