Eaton Fire initially started 6:18 p.m. Jan. 7 in Los Angeles County. Since its discovery four days ago, it has burned 14,117 acres, an increase of 125 acres since the last update. A fire crew of 2,832 has been working on site and, as of Saturday noon, they managed to contain 15% of the fire. However, investigations into the cause are ongoing.

Decreased winds have helped slow progression of the fire, as officials prepare for the return of strong winds early next week.

Fire officials said Friday that the 13,956-acre Eaton Fire has reached 3% containment as growth of the wildfire had been significantly stopped on Thursday. The blaze did make a push Thursday afternoon north,

The Eaton Fire has devastated the Altadena community, killing at least six and destroying thousands of structures. The fire is now about 15% contained.

Only two wildfires in California history have caused more destruction than the Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire in LA County.
